Christian Response to Obamacare

This week, Americans sat stunned as the Supreme Court delivered its decision on the Affordable Care Act. Many pundits speculated that the individual mandate faced the ax, with other provisions possibly being ruled constitutional. However, on Thursday, Liberals and Conservatives alike expressed shock that by a 5 – 4 vote, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the President’s self-proclaimed crowning achievement. The Twitter feed from the White House showed real class when it tweeted, “Still a BFD.” (Since kids possibly read this, I’ll let adults look up the tasteless and profane acronym.) The Liberals celebrated, the Conservatives vowed a repeal in the Fall. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said that, “despite Thursday’s decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the Affordable Care Act, he will not implement it in his state.” Jindal said despite the Supreme Court ruling, Louisiana will not “set up an exchange.”

Yahoo News reports, Under the legislation, states are required to set up a health insurance exchange program by January 2014 and they will receive grants from the federal government in order to implement it. Instead, Jindal says he’s just going to wait in the hopes Romney gets elected and the legislation then repealed, a difficult task even if the presumptive GOP nominee makes it to the White House.

“Elections have consequences. Elections do, in fact, matter,” Jindal said. “This one matters a lot.”

So the question begs to be asked, what is a Christian response to Obamacare?

A Christian Response to Obamacare

From the AUL Update

One of the clandestine provisions of the law, funnels monies collected from this bill into Planned Parenthood, America’s number one abortion provider.

“The Supreme Court decision ratified a landmark anti-life law, containing a covert abortion premium mandate which unfairly forces Americans to pay for abortions – Congress must now take action,” said AUL’s Dr. Charmaine Yoest

Dr. Yoest added, “The Obama Administration and the authors of the Affordable Care Act hijacked healthcare reform, as a vehicle for forcing their radical pro-abortion agenda on America. AUL is exposing the ‘Covert Abortion Premium Mandate’ that conscripts healthcare managers as secret agents of the abortion industry who are almost entirely forbidden to tell people that they are paying for abortion coverage. Congress must take action. Americans United for Life and AUL Action will be working to advocate that all healthcare is based on life-affirming principles.”

And those who deny such ‘covert mandates’ exist, need only to read the 2000+ page behemoth, something most Congressman neglected to do before ramming socialist medicine down the throat of this Country. Even Nancy Pelosi joked,

“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”

If Romney fails to win the Oval office, America faces the fog’s total dissipation in 2014.

So, how should a Christian respond to Obamacare?

The Bible teaches in Romans 13,

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

So does this mean that if Obamacare unleashes its full devastation on America, that Christians have to abide? No! Acts 5:29 says,

“We must obey God rather than men.”

I’m certain that God loathes abortion, and desires for us to yank away the funding to institutions that perform such heinous acts, not funnel funds to Planned Parenthood, or other agencies snuffing out the lives of unborn babies.

So, again, what’s a Christian response to Obamacare? Pray for a revival to sweep across our Nation and vote in November. Even though people tend to dodge the topics of “religion and politics,” fearing confrontation, it’s time to discuss these issues, exposing hidden and godless agendas. Some possibly whine that the Supreme Court struck a death knell for Conservatism, and that fighting this government intrusion is a battle already lost. Take heart! I can’t help but believe that God isn’t through with America, I guess we must decide if we are through with God. And remember the famous words of Edmund Burke, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Let’s change “good” to “Godly.”

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

One Response to Christian Response to Obamacare

  1. “I can’t help but believe that God isn’t through with America, I guess we must decide if we are through with God.” That’s a great line. There’s a lot of pressure out there and we need to be trusting God more than ever. Thank you for your informative post!
