God Doesn’t Allow Illegals Into Heaven

Illegal Immigration SignUnless you live in an Amish community or refuse to tune into any cable network news, you know that the President struck a raw nerve this Summer, when by executive order he extended a form of amnesty to approximately 1,000,000 illegal immigrants.  Then, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled against three of the four provisions Arizona established to secure its borders.  Illegal immigration poses a grave threat to America and unfortunately the current Administration ignores the plight of border states and fails to enforce immigration laws on the books.  Immigration benefits America only if done through the proper channels.  Yes, the system currently needs a significant overhaul, but scaling a wall or slithering under a fence to enter the United States is illegal.  Even God exercises an immigration policy.  God doesn’t allow illegals into heaven.

Before gasping at a supposed bigotry, read on.  Only those with proper documentation enter into Heaven.  In the Book of Revelation, chapter 21, the Apostle John shares a detailed picture of Heaven.  Verse 22 and following says, “I didn’t see a temple in the city.  This was because the Lamb and the Lord God who rules over all are its temple.  The city does not need the sun or moon to shine on it.  God’s glory is its light, and the Lamb is its lamp.  The nations will walk by the light of the city.  The kings of the world will bring their glory into it.  Its gates will never be shut, because there will be no light there.  The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.  Only what is pure will enter it.  No one who fools others or does shameful things will enter it.  Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will enter the city.”

Get that?  A person’s eternal destiny hinges upon whether God pens his or her name in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  God doesn’t play favorites nor base a person’s admittance on color or nationality.  A person enjoys citizenship in Heaven if he or she knows Christ.

Some people wrongly think that a heavenly welcoming party awaits every person who exhibits a semblance of morals and integrity, thinking the “born again” spiel of Jesus in John Chapter three bunk.  However, Ephesians 2:8-9 debunks those who hold true to such an ideology.  These verses state, “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, this is the gift of God, not by works, so that no man can boast.”  In fact, the Bible warns our works are as “filthy rags.”  Only those “clothed” properly can expect their names to be in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

In Jesus’ Parable of the Wedding Banquet, after all of the guests arrived the king entered the wedding hall.  Matthew 22:11 and following shares, “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.  ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes?’  The man was speechless.  The king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”  Wrong clothes, i.e. filthy rags won’t cut it in the eyes of God.  So how does one dress properly and find his name in the Lamb’s Book of Life?

When a person invites Christ into his life, God no longer sees the “filthy rags” but notes the righteousness of Christ.  At the moment that an individual receives Christ as Lord and Savior, a party breaks out in Heaven and God writes that person’s name in the Lamb’s Book of Life, a reservation that can never be erased or broken.

So, a person can’t climb over the walls of Heaven or slip through the pearly gates unnoticed.  Only those with correct documentation own the blessing of a mansion on the streets of gold.

Great post! Moral living does not equal a saved life. These are two seperate things. Stopping by from CBC.

Great article. I had a similar thought about immigration last November after going to Mexico on a missions trip and watching 6 or 7 guys swim across the Rio Grande in broad daylight and crawl under the fence into the U.S. A great verse I found was Philippians 3:20 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.” Manifest Blog

Very good points. Unfortunately many don’t understand the documentation necessary to enter the kingdom of God. Great comparison!
